Early Intervention Services (EIS)
EIS works with young people who have the early symptoms of an emerging psychosis. The service enables them to recover from the episode and aims to assist young people to continue to achieve their life time goals.
Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset
Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 17.00 pm (but flexible to meet the needs of young people and their families).
By self referral, telephone or in writing.
Awareness of early signs of a potential emerging psychosis
EIS works with young people who have the early symptoms of an emerging Psychosis.
The team consists of a range of trained people which includes Nurses, Doctors, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. They have had training and experience of working with young people with early signs of psychosis and their families. They also have close links with other clinical teams and services, which can provide specialist help and support.
Self referral, GP, Youth Services, CAMHS, CMHTs, Inpatient Services, Schools.
Advice can be given during the assessment process.
Information for carers is available on request and is part of the assessment process.
EIS can offer support and treatment within a safe environment of the patient’s choice.
