Pebble Lodge Adolescent Inpatient Service

What does it do?

Pebble Lodge provides a specialist service for adolescents whose level of Mental Health needs and risks to self, others and the environment is such, that they require 24 hours assessment, treatment and care in a specialist psychiatric unit.

The unit operates a 24 hour service.

How can I refer?

Referrals are made through the Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Service, which we work very closely with.

What functions/treatment and therapies are offered?

Pebble Lodge is a homely atmosphere where we can assess and treat young people, and support their families/carers. Every care package we design is unique to an individual’s needs and can include individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy, as well as education.

Our people are friendly, professional and each one has different expertise.  They’re dedicated to ensuring young people return to their families/carers as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Which types of illness/medical condition does the service treat?
Mental Health problems such as: Psychosis, Personality Disorders, Mood Disorders, Phobias, Depression, Anxieties,Obsessive Compulsive Disorder,Attachment Disorder,Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,Self-Harm, Suicide, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Tourette Syndrome.
Who will I see?

Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Mental Health Nurses, Mental Health Support Workers, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, a Teacher and a Social Worker.

You can speak to your Key Nurse or any member of our team.

How can I get involved / what support groups are available?

All information regarding the weekly Therapeutic programme will be given during the admission process.

Do you have information for Carers?

A leaflet will be given to young people/their parents/carers upon admission to the unit detailing information on Pebble Lodge.
