Community Night Nursing

What does it do?

To provide an out of hours nursing service predominately for housebound adults over the age of 16 with healthcare needs in the community.

Service Delivery Area

Pan Dorset, inc Bournemouth and Poole (with the exception of Lyme Regis).

What are the service opening times?

Pan Dorset 20:00 - 08:00 

Bournemouth and Poole 22:00 - 07:00

What functions/treatment and therapies are offered?

Treatments requiring a Registered Nurse to undetake.

Which types of illness/medical condition does the service treat?

The Night Nurses primarily deal with urgent nursing referrals, eg palliative care/end of life, catheter problems, etc.

Who will I see?

Registered Nurse and or Healthcare Assistant. 

As a patient, how do I access services?

You can access this service via your GP surgery (in hours), Community Nursing Team or Dorset Urgent Care Service.  Patients within Pan Dorset areas can contact the Night Nursing service via the Out of Hours telephone number: 0845 600 1013.

How can I get involved / what support groups are available?

None.

Where, when and how often are the clinics?

Nursing care is provided within the patient home.
