Dermatitis s and Eczema

Which types of illness/medical condition does the service treat?

Adult Dermatology

Actinic Keratoses;
Moderate to severe eczema that has not responded to plentiful emollients+ hydrocortisone and applications (3-5) days of potent topical corticosteroids for flares; Low risk basal cell carcinoma; Other moderate inflammatory dermatoses that are poorly controlled despite treatment from the GP; Bowen's disease;Nail disorder;Other scalp disorders;Keloid scars;Rashes of diagnostic uncertainty in patients without associated systemic upset; Pyogenic granuloma (beware DD of amelanotic melanoma);Seborrhoic keratoses or other benign skin lesions that cause significant disfigurement or are symptomatic eg painful; Skin conditions impacting on ocupation/social function;

Paediatric Dermatology

Patients from birth to age 16 years. Diagnosed skin conditions- mainly atopic eczema General Care Planning, treatment and management support and education.
