What does it do?

The aim of the Community Dermatology Service is to aid the early diagnosis and management of adults and children with skin conditions.  We provide a clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and minor surgery service for a wide range of routine skin conditions and complaints.

How can I refer?

We accept referrals from GPs through Choose and Book. 

Paper referrals to the Specialist Paediatric Nurse Service are accepted from Healthcare professionals that can not refer through Choose and Book

What functions/treatment and therapies are offered?

We provide a wide range of treatment and therapies including:

 

  • Prescriptions for oral and topical treatments
  • Liquid nitrogen Cryotherapy
  • Advice, education and self management plans
  • Minor surgery
Which types of illness/medical condition does the service treat?

We treat a very wide range of skin conditions including:

 

  • Acne
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Actinic Keratoses
  • Nail disorders
  • Scalp disorders
  • Rashes
  • Inflammatory disorders
