Wheelchair Assessment, Supply and Repair Service

What does it do?

To provide wheelchairs, accessories and special seating on a loan basis to clients. The service also   provides a comprehensive maintenance and repair service for equipment issued by service.

Service Delivery Area

Service Delivery Area  locations for all Clients registered with a Dorset or B&P GP. Clinic Centres are in Dorchester and in The Acorn Building at St Leonards hospital site.

What are the service opening times?

8.30 am to 5pm Monday to Friday  and 9am to noon Saturdays for emergency repairs

Professionals can contact by phone fax, email for clients known to the service or advice for anything else, or via referral form for new clients

What functions/treatment and therapies are offered?

Assessment and provision of wheelchairs, cushions, seating and associated accessories and modifications (if required) to enable as much independence as your condition allows

Which types of illness/medical condition does the service treat?

Any condition/illness which effects a persons long term mobility including the terminally ill

Who will I see?

If an assessment is required you will see a qualified clinician

As a patient, how do I access services?

As a new client you can access the service via your GP or other accredited Health Care Professional

Clinic times vary depending on client requirement. Full details can be obtained when contacting the service, and are based at our centres.
