What does it do?

Treatment of Minor ailments and minor injuries by Nurse-led service (no Doctor present)

What are the service opening times?

8am to 10pm every day of the year

last consultation 17:30 Mon – Fri and 15:30 W/E’s and B/H’s , also the units close for 30 mins for lunch. This time varies due to the number of attendees to the units

Minor Injuries is a walk-in service, no referral required. Due to the nature of the service we do not offer appointments

What functions/treatment and therapies are offered?

Minor injuries such as lacerations, sprains / soft tissue injuries and simple fractures 

Which types of illness/medical condition does the service treat?

Sees patients with injuries such as:       

Sprains, fractures (x-ray available weekday mornings)

Wounds, Foreign bodies in skin (eg splinters), Foreign bodies in eyes, Head injuries, Animal / insect bites

Also minor illnesses such as:                

Urinary tract infection, Eye infections, Skin / wound infections

Who will I see?

Minor Injuries is staffed by experienced nurses / nurse practitioners

Direct access – no appointment or referral required.

How can I get involved / what support groups are available?

A range of printed information leaflets are available.

Open 8am to 10pm every day of the year
