Minor Injuries Unit - Yeatman Hospital (Sherborne)

What does it do?

Specialist skilled nurse led service ( no doctor present) offering x ray and casting some limb fractures, repairing of most wounds with either sutures, glue or tape. Minor eye injuries/ conditions. Sprains and minor head injuries.

What are the service opening times?

9am – 6pm Monday to Friday. Closed for lunch 1-2pm (This time varies due to the number of attendees to the unit). Last appointment 5.30pm

10am - 4pm Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays. Last appointment 3.30pm

 

NB: If patients arrive within half an hour of closing time they may be turned away if:

a)  There is already a patient being treated

b)  The nurse does not think that she can safely deliver the treatment required in the time left available.
