What functions/treatment and therapies are offered?

The unit provides :

  • Comprehensive acute assessment of health needs, including diagnosis.
  • Management of acute mental health needs.
    • Mental Health Act admissions for assessment and treatment.
  • Assessment of risk.
  • Working with community teams to plan care needs on discharge.
  • Liaison support and advice to other services on the management of mental health needs.

Organic mental health needs, eg dementia.

A member of the unit team.

Via Consultant Psychiatrist.

Occupational Therapy activities.

Carers assessments and information packs are available. One to one advice is available if required.
