About the Trust / Membership
Why become a Member of our Trust?
Having a wide membership of local people, including patients, service users, carers and staff, means that we are better able to listen and respond to the views of the local communities we serve.
Anyone over the age of 11 can become a member. Membership is FREE of charge and obligation. You can have as much involvement as you wish.
Some of the benefits of being a member of Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust mean you will:
- Be sent Trust newsletters (quarterly) keeping you informed of our work and developments.
- Belong to one of three constituencies based on where you live; Bournemouth, Poole or Dorset / Rest of England.
- Be invited to Trust meetings and to meet with Trust Governors in your constituency, who will listen to and represent your views.
- Be able to stand for election as a Trust Governor when positions become available.
- Be asked to vote for Trust Governors who represent members of their constituencies.
- Be invited to our Annual Members Meeting and O*S*C*A*R*S Staff Awards.
- Be very welcome to become a Trust volunteer.
