Poole-based firm Morebus has joined the growing number of local businesses signing up to support the Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme run by Dorset HealthCare. The initiative aims to get more women breastfeeding in public and encourage cafes, restaurants, leisure centre and other public venues to sign a certificate of good practice and display a sticker welcoming mums through their doors.​

More than 120 local businesses across the county have signed up to a Dorset HealthCare campaign aimed at encouraging more women to breastfeed and have the confidence to do it in public.

With adverts in tube cars and on buses, as well as outdoor advertising, the Trust is aiming to fill vacancies in nursing and other key roles.

The new chairman of the League of Friends of Weymouth and Portland Hospitals is appealing for new members to come forward, and help support local health services. The call comes from 80-year-old former mayor Peter Rendall, who has taken charge of the charity on a temporary basis until a permanent replacement for the long-standing David Smith is found.
