Connection – a 24/7 mental health helpline

Connection is a round-the-clock helpline for people of all ages, anywhere in Dorset, who are experiencing mental health issues and need support.

The number - 0300 1235440 - offers 24/7 telephone access to mental health advice and support as part of the Dorset Crisis Response Service. Connection also offers assessments outside of Community Mental Health Teams operating hours (for adults only). It can be reached through the dedicated telephone number or through dialling 111 and selecting mental health.

Staff are trained to support anyone who calls - regardless of the level of mental health crisis - and can signpost you to the most appropriate service which meets your needs. This can range from voluntary services and peer support through to Steps to Wellbeing, as well as Community Mental Health Teams, Home Treatment teams and urgent assessment within four hours, if required. They may also direct you to the drop-in services provided at The Retreat in Bournemouth.

0300 1235440 - available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
