COO_banner2.jpg

Are you looking for an exciting leadership role in an outstanding trust that places partnership and community at its heart?

Dorset HealthCare is offering just that. Our new Chief Operating Officer will play a key role in the next stage of our journey. Delivering mental health and community services to a population of almost 800,000 people, our 7,000 dedicated staff are encouraged to constantly find new ways of working to improve our services for local people.

About this role

As Chief Operating Officer you will play an important part within our executive team and on Dorset HealthCare’s Board, as well as empowering colleagues to deliver the highest levels of operational performance and ensure consistency across our services.

You’ll have a broad range of strategic skills and be able to constructively challenge, inspire, motivate and influence both internally and externally. An adept communicator across a wide range of audiences, you’ll demonstrate a genuine commitment to listening to and supporting staff, patients, services users, families and carers.

Your highly developed relationship-building and communication skills will be a key strength, as will an excellent understanding of how to deal compassionately with potentially sensitive, contentious and complex issues at the most senior level.

As an inspirational and compassionate leader, you will provide direction, purpose, pace and energy to ensure colleagues are engaged, empowered and well-informed. It is important to you to be a visible leader, both of a geographically dispersed and multi-disciplinary workforce, and when working with partner organisations.

In return we offer an attractive Very Senior Manager salary, flexible working, a strong focus on your wellbeing and the chance to be part of our exciting journey.

We are committed to embracing diversity and tackling discrimination and we would welcome applications from across the spectrum of diversity and groups who may be under-represented in senior leadership roles in the NHS.
