An online information event is taking place on 11 November for people to find out about career opportunities at Dorset HealthCare’s brand new, state-of-the-art child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) unit in Bournemouth.
The psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) is due to open early next year, and the Trust is seeking dedicated team members to provide exceptional care to young people aged between 13 and 18 experiencing serious mental health problems.
Consultants, clinical psychologists, specialty doctors, clinical team leads, and mental health nurses are invited to join the free virtual event, from 7.30pm -8.15pm, and learn about the rewarding work in CAMHS inpatient services.
The eight-bed PICU, on Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth, is part of a £70.6 million Government investment in improving local inpatient mental health care. It will allow young people to receive 24-hour specialist treatment close to family and friends – greatly aiding their likelihood of making a full recovery
Claire Ozmond, the Trust’s CAMHS inpatient clinical service manager, will explain all about the new unit, working for Dorset HealthCare and CAMHS, as well as outlining the varied career roles available.
Claire is looking forward to meeting people interested in making a difference. She said:
“If you are passionate about providing outstanding care, promoting recovery and wellbeing in a modern, purpose-built setting, and would like to help have a positive change on the lives of young people, come along to our online event to find out more.”
Other Trust colleagues will also be on hand to answer any questions and give an insight into working for the Trust and CAMHS, including Morad Margoum (service director for mental health, learning disabilities, children and families) and Rebecca Matoug (ward manager), Stephen Turberville (consultant psychiatrist) plus members of the human resources team.
More information and a video clip about the new facility and roles available can be found on the Trust’s career's website.
Reserve your place at the information event by emailing dhc.
If you are unable to attend, come along to our free online weekly drop-in session – held every Friday at 1pm via MS Teams. Rebecca (ward manager) and Claire (CAMHS clinical team lead) will tell you more about what the new site and service has to offer for children and young people and answer any questions. Join the meeting. Rebecca and Claire look forward to seeing you.
