Community hospitals
We run Dorset's 12 community hospitals. All host a range of outpatient clinics, some have inpatient beds and a number also have minor injuries units (or, in Weymouth's case, an urgent treatment centre). Details of each hospital site are available below. You can also find out more information about your hospital stay.
Please do not visit our hospitals if you have symptoms of a respiratory illness like a cough, cold or a high temperature. If you have diarrhoea and vomiting, wait until this has stopped for 48 hours before attending a hospital.
Face masks are available at all main entrances to our sites if you would like to wear one. Hand sanitising products are also available.
Hospital patients may have two visitors. Hospital matrons and ward leads do have the discretion to support more people to visit where requested.
Several of our hospitals host minor injuries units (MIUs), while Weymouth Hospital has an urgent treatment centre (UTC). These can help treat a range of injuries and ailments which are not life-threatening. However, if you require urgent care, please call 111 or go online for an initial assessment.
We provide adult inpatient mental health services at a number of sites around Dorset. These are for people who are struggling with severe mental health issues. Our aim is to provide person-centred care and treatment, focused on recovery, to allow people to return home as quickly as possible.
