Vocational services (helping you retain your job or return to work)
Our employment advice service is available to anyone who is accessing support through the Steps to Wellbeing service. We help people struggling with:
- workplace stress
- knowing your rights
- talking to your manager
- finding work
- work/life balance
- employment advice.
We can provide help through face-to-face or telephone support, advice, guidance and signposting to other services.
Once your therapist has referred you, one of our employment advisors will contact you within a week to arrange a suitable time and date for a telephone assessment to examine your employment needs. In this assessment you will be asked what your goals are regarding your employment and what we as a service can do to support you. We can support unemployed people to help them find a job. We can also work with people who are in work but off sick and need some support to go back to work. We also support people who are at work but coping with workplace stress.
We will offer you up to six sessions of support and can offer face-to-face appointments, depending on your needs and requirements. We will signpost you or refer you if necessary to another service if, together, we feel our service may not be suitable to meet your needs.
We can help clients learn new tools and strategies to manage their work place stress and plan some achievable goals for their future.
If you would like to access support from the employment advice service, you will need to be referred by a therapist within Steps to Wellbeing. Refer yourself to Steps to Wellbeing.
