The Discovery Project is delivered by the Dorset Wellbeing and Recovery Partnership (WaRP). A partnership between Dorset Mental Health Forum, a local peer-led organisation, and Dorset HealthCare.

We are a team of clinical trainers and peer specialists who bring together clinical and lived experiences, and expertise. And work with young people under the age of 25, their families, supporters, and communities across Dorset.

The name 'Discovery' came directly from feedback from young people, who told us they wanted to discover who they are and what truly matters to them, before they think about what they can and want to recover to.

Our work is underpinned by the principles of recovery, trauma informed practice and recovery education, and we aim to create spaces for people to reframe and make sense of their experiences.

We co-design and co-deliver course and resources, creating opportunities for young people, their families and supporters to connect, explore and make sense of their experiences.

We work closely with people, schools and youth projects to amplify the voices of young people.  The project aims to facilitate participation and create mechanisms for young people to have a voice within services and communities

We work with services and Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprises (VCSEs) bringing together lived experience and clinical expertise into specific projects, including service development, bespoke training and support staff wellbeing.

As a Project we’re always evolving. Doing that means we have young people’s voices right at the heart of our project.

We are busy working on making our resources shareable via this page. In the meantime... want to get involved? Or have any questions or want to find out more?  Send us an email.
