Key information about this service
Why is it important to get the COVID-19 vaccination?
Vaccinations are important for keeping people healthy and preventing diseases in our community. Next to providing clean water, vaccination is the most important thing we can do to protect ourselves and our children against ill health.
The COVID-19 vaccine can help reduce your risk of getting serious symptoms, help reduce your risk of having to go to hospital, help you recover more quickly if you catch COVID-19 and protect you against different types of the COVID-19 virus. The COVID-19 vaccines are offered because viruses change and protection fades over time, so it’s important to top up your protection if you are eligible.
Who's eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination?
If you are 75 or over, or a resident in a care home for older adults, you are eligible for the vaccine. If you are aged 6 months to 74 years old and immunosuppressed, you are also eligible. For more information, please scroll down to the dropdown section to read more about where you can get your Covid vaccination, how to request transport to your appointment, locations offering COVID vaccinations for young people and children along with other support on offer and our well-visited FAQ page.
Come to a walk-in clinic
We are also holding walk-in clinics (see below). There's no need to book an appointment at a walk-in clinic. If you're eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination, then just turn up.
