Who can we help?

The service works with children with a diagnosis of a learning disability who in educational terms have severe or moderate learning difficulties. And, in addition, present with any of the following:

  • significant aggression/challenging behaviours putting the child or others at risk
  • mental illness or significant mental health problem.

What can we help with?

Some of the difficulties we support with include:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • behaviour that others perceive as challenging
  • difficulties in line with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and attention deficit with hyperactivity disorder
  • difficulties in line with developmental delay e.g. sleeping and eating
  • attachment difficulties
  • trauma and PTSD
  • psychosis.

 How do we help?

The aim of our service is to help:

  • alleviate mental health problems / behaviours of concern
  • reduce stress for the child and their family
  • improve relationships and quality of life.
ID CAMHS aims to provide advice, support and training for children and young people’s families. We also work with carers, school staff, social workers and other professionals involved in their care.
