Summer term ends

Please find below some further details for our new courses and events running this summer term.

We have a new addition to our offer this summer, Understanding Unusual Experiences. This is an 8 week course running as an enhanced webinar. It has been co-produced and will be co-facilitated by a member of the local psychology team and a senior peer specialist from Dorset Mental Health Forum. This course will look slightly different from our usual courses in that it involves working closely through a workbook together and is open only to students with lived experience of unusual experiences. Please see our course descriptions for more detail.

We are also offering a facilitated Reflective Space at the end of the summer term. We hope this will provide an opportunity for enrolled students to celebrate with us and talk about any of our courses attended and/or online resources used. We really value all student feedback and it is a chance to reflect on your learning journey this term and to share your learning with us. We would welcome any ideas you may have for the future of our Recovery Education Centre.

* This term we are also pleased to offer some drop in events that are open to all, not just enrolled students of the REC:

  • In May we have a Beach Day with the Forum’s Sports and Social team as part of Mental Health Awareness Month in Poole. We’ll have beach huts, beach football, rounders and refreshments too.
  • In June and July, we have two Feel-Good Band workshops in collaboration with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, professional musicians alongside Forum peers, that will explore how music can help support recovery.

More details of these exciting events will follow shortly.

If you would like to access resources offline, please contact us to explore the options.
