Dorset HealthCare’s Work Services

Dorset Healthcare provides three services to help with vocational goals:-

Vocational Services

This is an Occupational Therapy led service covering the whole of Dorset. Its for people whose long-term health condition is affecting their work options and who also have a work-related (vocational) goal.

Vocational goals could include finding ways to manage health needs in areas such as:

·       Retaining current employment and exploring other options

·       Returning to paid work, voluntary work or education

·       Retraining for employment

Vocational Rehabilitation is a process whereby those disadvantaged by illness or disability can be enabled to access, maintain or return to employment or other useful occupation.’

Dorset Work Matters

Dorset Work Matters is a new service for individuals with a mental health condition who are under the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and wanting to gain PAID employment. Employment specialists work using the Individual Placement Support approach. Referrals are made through the CMHT.

Employment Advisors

This service is for individuals who are currently been seen by an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service or on the Steps 2 Wellbeing waiting list.

Support is given with employment issues.
