Everyone welcome at Yeatman Hospital health exhibition

15th June 2017

The Yeatman Hospital in Sherborne is inviting members of the public through its doors for a special health exhibition next week.

The event will take place on Monday (19 June) in the physiotherapy department between 1-4pm, and will provide information about the wide range of services on offer, including audiology, diabetes, dementia and community mental health support.

Staff at the hospital, which is run by Dorset HealthCare, will also demonstrate how they work in partnership with many other organisations to meet the health needs of the local population.

Anne Hiscock is Matron at the hospital. She said: “I am very proud to host this exhibition. It gives people from our local communities the opportunity to see the wide and varied services that are based within the hospital as well as locally.

“It also provides a fantastic forum for providers of health related services to improve links and network for the benefit of our patients.”

The Friends of The Yeatman, who raise funds to support the hospital, will also be represented at the event.

The health exhibition is part of LiveWell Sherborne Week which runs from Monday through to the Saturday (24 June). Local organisations that offer support to help people to live happy, healthy and independent lives will be promoting their work at various locations around the town.

Local sports centres will be offering a variety of taster sessions, some free of charge, and local GP practices will be promoting ‘walking for health’ to encourage more of us to enjoy the social and health benefits of gentle, regular exercise.
