Online meeting spotlights new ways of working in local health services

7th October 2022

While the COVID-19 pandemic brought huge challenges for the NHS, it also gave rise to new ways of working which could help transform patient care over the coming years.

And Dorset HealthCare, which provides community-based physical and mental health services across the county, will be showcasing some of these new approaches at its Annual Members’ Meeting (AMM) on Wednesday, 19 October.

The webinar-style event is open to everyone, and will focus on how innovation and closer partnership working are helping the Trust keep pace with local needs.

There will also be a chance for members of the public to give their views in a live poll about key healthcare topics, as well as submit specific questions to be answered by the Trust’s leadership team.

Trust Chair Andy Willis, who will host the meeting, said:

“As well as looking back over the challenges and changes of the past 12 months, the meeting will look at how we are continuing to adapt and deliver the best possible services for local people.

“The event will be held over Microsoft Teams, and anyone with an internet connection will be able to attend.

“Running the meeting this way will allow more people to join us, saving on travel costs and avoiding the risk of infection in a crowded room. Previous ‘virtual’ events have worked well, and we hope lots of local residents will be able to attend and give their views.”

The event will include a presentation from Acting Chief Executive Dawn Dawson and a report from the Trust’s Council of Governors, plus videos about district nursing, health services for young people leaving care and volunteers supporting our frontline services.

It will be held on Microsoft Teams from 4-5.30pm, though you don’t need a Teams account to take part.

If you would like to attend, just register your interest at www.dorsethealthcare.nhs.uk/AMM and we’ll email you a meeting link and details of what you need to do.
