Dorset HealthCare is asking local unpaid carers to recognise the value of what they do - and remember to look after themselves.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, many carers will be going through an especially challenging time, and it’s important they seek help when they need it and open up about their own health and wellbeing.
The Trust will be celebrating their massive, but sometimes overlooked, contribution to our communities with a host of online events and awareness-raising activities.
Pop a poster in your window
Celebrate that you are a carer and get recognised by downloading and printing the Carers Week logo, colouring it in and placing in your window celebrating carers. Download here.
Or if you fancy being even more creative, Carer Support Dorset have come up with their own poster for you to print and colour in. Download it here.
Or use their pre-made one here.
Write a poem
Could you jot down into words how it feels to be a carer? We’d love to receive your poems and share. Email them to pat.wilkins@nhs.net or share via social media tagging in Dorset HealthCare.
Reflect on your experience
During the week, we would like you to reflect on being a carer. Take a photo or video (with consent and permission) and share your thoughts, feelings and tips for others. Use the hashtag #carersweek
