DBT and RO-DBT skills webinars

These webinars are for clients engaging with a community mental health team (CMHT) or equivalent mental health team under Dorset HealthCare who would like to learn skills to manage their emotions and develop their relationships.
Webinars are led by therapists from the IPTS who are experienced to an adherent level in the respective therapy models. It is important to note that, whilst these webinars are designed to be informative, they are not therapy.
These webinars are also open to Dorset HealthCare mental health staff who are interested in learning more about these skills.

About the webinars

The webinars for DBT cover DBT coping strategies and skills to manage emotional dysregulation. You can join at the beginning of any of the three modules:

  • Distress Tolerance
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness.

The RO-DBT webinar programme is divided into three parts of 10 weeks each, and you can join at the beginning of any of the parts:

  • Enhancing Openness
  • Increasing Flexibility
  • Improving Social Connections with Others.

How to access the webinars

Contact your CMHT or Dorset HealthCare mental health team. Let them know you would like to be referred to the IPTS for skills webinars, and which webinar (DBT or RO-DBT) you are interested in.

You will have to complete a set of psychometric tests before attending your first webinar and again at the end of the module or part. This will enable you to access the next module/part if you wish to continue.

What you’ll need to take part

A confidential space for the duration of each session and a suitable device, with your camera turned on throughout each session.
