The West Dorset Continence Advisory Service is open to referral from any source. Patients themselves can contact us for an appointment as well as all nurses from any discipline, GPs, Consultants, Social services Learning Disability or mental health professionals. Our ‘referral form’ is the favoured method to refer patients to us, but we will accept referral letters with the appropriate information.
Full assessment of the problem in a secure, private environment by a specialist nurse. Promoting continence by offering lifestyle advice, bladder retraining, pelvic floor exercises, Electrical Stimulation and Biofeedback and bladder scanning. The service can facilitate referral to other services for further, specialised assessment and treatment.
Any bladder and bowel problem that is of concern to that person or carer.
