What does it do?

The service diagnoses and manages paediatric visual development problems.  It treats adults with double vision and vision problems relating to general medical conditions.

GP/Health Visitor/School Nurse Referral to Dorset HealthCare University Foundation Trust or Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital Foundation Trust

What functions/treatment and therapies are offered?

The testing of children's vision from the age of six months, patching and lazy eye treatment.  Working with the consultant ophthalmologist regarding squints and the issue of glasses.  Adults are offered assessment and eye exercises.

Which types of illness/medical condition does the service treat?

Child vision problems. 

Adult double vision problems.
