Make the right decision to stay well this winter

3rd January 2018

As you may have heard, the winter season has put considerable pressure on NHS Emergency Departments.

You can help us to help you by making the right decision about the services you need to stay well this winter. A lot of symptoms and conditions being seen at Emergency Departments in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorchester could be diagnosed and treated much faster by using a more appropriate service.

Your local Minor Injury Unit or Urgent Care Centre is on hand to help if you have a sprain, strain, cuts or bruises or need treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illness. A full list of locations is available on our dedicated webpage.

If you have symptoms of flu or norovirus, please stay at home and avoid passing on your illness to other patients and hospital staff. Call NHS 111 for advice.

The guide below can help make the right choice but if you’re not sure where to go, again, please call NHS 111 for the best advice.
