Minor Injury Units and A&E

Please note that Dorset HealthCare doesn't run A&Es in Dorset; we only run MIUs and Urgent Treatment Centres.

Please, consider MIUs and Urgent Treatment Centres to ease the pressure on A&Es services in Dorset.

If your injury is not life threatening or serious, minor injuries units and urgent care centres can treat:

  • sprains and strains
  • broken bones
  • wound infections
  • minor burns and scalds
  • minor head injuries
  • insect and animal bites
  • minor eye injuries
  • injuries to the back, shoulder and chest

MIUs will see their last patient 30 minutes before closing. The Urgent Treatment Centre in Weymouth will see patients up till closing time.
