Develop a nursing career with the NHS in Dorset
Dorset HealthCare is inviting band 5 registered nurses to a one-off online event showcasing roles available at the Trust that will develop and shape their nursing career.
Taking place on Tuesday, 7 June from 5-6.30pm, the event will provide information about vacancies on offer in district nursing and community hospital teams which provide vital services for local residents.
Roles available will involve supporting elderly, disabled and vulnerable people to stay independent in their own homes or be cared for in their local community hospital.
The virtual event will allow potential new recruits to meet the Trust’s key nursing leads, find out about each hospital and community team, discover how they can develop their career and ask questions – all from the comfort of their home.
Alison Tallant, Locality Manager at the Trust, said:
“Whether you’re an experienced band 5 nurse looking to make a move, or just starting out your band 5 career journey, we understand you’ll want to find the right role, ward or community team and, ultimately, the best fit where you can develop and shape your nursing career.
“We share your passion for nursing and your desire to give patients the very best possible care. If you are considering applying, I would say to absolutely do it. As a CQC ‘outstanding’ rated Trust, you’ll be working with a strong team to help develop your career– the possibilities are endless.
“And if anyone you know is thinking of relocating to Dorset for the roles available, please tell them about the event. We offer a generous relocation package of up to £10,000 or up to £500 towards rent for the first three months, subject to HMRC guidelines.”
Anneka Moxom, District Nurse Team Lead for West Dorset, said:
"Having the one-on-one time with your patient to really get to know them in a district nursing or community hospital nursing role is invaluable, and one of the biggest differences I noticed when coming from an acute hospital setting.
“For me, it is an honour to be a guest in someone’s home, providing acute clinical skills and treatments. We are the wards without any walls.
“I can honestly say I have never dreaded coming to work, and I thoroughly enjoy being around everyone, both staff and patients. The saying 'do a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life' is exactly how I feel working for Dorset HealthCare."
More information about the virtual event, plus all the available district nursing and community hospital nursing vacancies, can be found on this website page. The deadline to apply for the vacancies on offer is Sunday, 12 June at midnight.
