Make a difference to mental health services in 2022

10th January 2022

Dorset HealthCare is inviting people to free virtual information sessions to find out more about working in local mental health services.

A number of virtual events are running until Friday, 14 January and will provide information on a wide variety of roles within the Trust’s Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), plus adult community mental health, crisis and liaison, and inpatient teams.

There’s a wide selection of roles on offer, both clinical and non-clinical. These include admin staff, support workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health nurses, social workers and occupational therapists. Each one plays a vital role in supporting children, young people and adults across the county who struggle with their mental health.

By joining one of the 30-minute sessions, potential new recruits will have a chance to meet the team members and find out what the Trust – rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission – has to offer.

Rachel Small, Deputy Service Director for Children, Young Person and Family Services, All Age Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Services, said:

“We are really excited to be expanding our mental health workforce in Dorset.

“If you are looking for a new career opportunity this year and would like to work in a mental health service that believes in valuing lived experience and professional expertise, please log in to one of these information sessions.

“They offer a great opportunity to informally meet our team and ask any questions before applying for a role, all from the comfort of your home.

“And if you know anyone thinking of relocating to Dorset, please let them know about the events, as we offer a generous relocation package for eligible roles.”

Nathan Hanney, Integrated Service Manager for Mental Health at the Trust, added:

“It’s such a privilege to be able to support young people and adults across the county of Dorset, working with them to achieve their goals. Every day is different and the opportunities to grow are endless.”
