#KindnessMatters
Kindness, compassion and empathy make us human and during the coronavirus outbreak, our communities have shown these traits in abundance. Being kinder to ourselves where we can, showing kindness to each other, our families, neighbours and colleagues matters more than ever.
At Dorset HealthCare, we’re supporting Mental Health Awareness Week to celebrate and shine a light on acts of kindness and the links with positive mental wellbeing.
We are sharing tips and stories over the next seven days from healthcare professionals and patients to help you know that you are not on your own and what support is available across Dorset should you need it.
Why is kindness so important?
We know that at times of uncertainty, communities come together to support each other, boost morale and share hope.
Helping others is not only good for your family, neighbours and colleagues, it good for our own mental health and wellbeing too.
Acts of kindness can help reduce stress and improve emotional wellbeing.
How you can join in
We want to get Dorset talking about kindness and mental health. By joining us online, we can share messages far and wide.
During the week, we would like you to carry out or reflect on an act of kindness. Take a photo or video (with consent and permission!) and use the hashtags #KindnessMatters #MHAWDorset2020 #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek.
Mental Health Awareness Week supporter pack
