Dorset Musculoskeletal Service

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS REGARDING

COVID-19

In response to the government measures to protect the general public from COVID-19 and as part of the NHS Strategy to free up services to care for people affected by the virus, Dorset Musculoskeletal Service face to face clinics will be cancelled for the foreseeable future.

You will be contacted by a team member to discuss your future appointment options in due course. These are likely to be telephone or video consultations (if you have internet access and adequate broadband speed).

We would like to thank you for your tolerance and patience as we reorganise our service to enable its sustainability and effectiveness during these challenging times.

Dorset Musculoskeletal service (DMSK) provides assessment, diagnosis and support with musculoskeletal conditions.

These are conditions that can affect muscles, bones, and joints, in any part of the body. They include common problems such as lower back pain, tennis elbow, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and osteoarthritis. You can be referred to this service by your GP or physiotherapist.

Our specialist orthodpaedics staff work from clinics across Dorset, and offer a range of treatments, including injections, epidurals and hand and wrist splints.

Following your assessment we may refer you for physiotherapy to assist your rehabilitation.
