Chaplaincy: pastoral, spiritual and religious care

Chaplaincy services are available to all patients, visitors and staff across all Dorset HealthCare sites and services.

Ill health often makes people reflect on what is important to them, and Chaplaincy is here to meet your pastoral, spiritual and religious needs – whatever your beliefs. You may wish to speak with someone who understands the language of faith, or talk with someone about things that are important to you. We can make contact with faith communities and leaders on your behalf, we can pray with you, or provide resources that will help you while in care.

We hold Christian services of worship in several units and have good links with all other local faith communities. In several units there are multi-faith quiet rooms, and we also have Spiritualty Leads at a number of sites.

There are Chaplains based at the Forston Clinic and Bridport Community Hospital and the service is supported by Chaplaincy volunteers. If you would like to meet with the Chaplain for pastoral or spiritual support, please contact us or speak to a member of staff.
