You can be referred to the inpatient unit by a health professional including your GP, midwife, health visitor, obstetrician, psychiatrist or the community mental health team. Sorry, but we cannot accept self-referrals.
Florence House mother and baby unit
Florence House is a five-bed psychiatric mother and baby unit located in Westbourne, Bournemouth. We provide specialist care and treatment for mothers with their babies when they are suffering with mental illness from 36-weeks of pregnancy until a child is one year old.
We are a small, safe friendly unit with specialist staff who can offer a variety of treatment options and support to mums to promote their recovery, whilst still being able to provide care for their babies.
We ensure collaborative working with our linked perinatal mental health community team to support mothers throughout admission and upon discharge.
