Mother and baby inpatient services

mother and baby handsYou can be referred to the inpatient unit by a health professional including your GP, midwife, health visitor, obstetrician, psychiatrist or the community mental health team. Sorry, but we cannot accept self-referrals.

Coronavirus update

Due to the current pandemic, all staff members on the ward will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) this includes masks, aprons, gloves and visors where appropriate.

On admission, we do require mothers and babies to isolate on the ward until we have completed an admission and day three COVID-19 swab and both have to return as negative results.

There have also been changes to visiting the ward, unfortunately only one allocated visitor can visit the ward and this has been restricted to only one hour per day and needs to be pre-booked via the unit.

We also will kindly ask if visitors can wear full PPE (masks, apron, gloves and visors). This will be provided on entering the unit and visit will need to occur in patient bedrooms only, this is to reduce any potential risks.
